Ralph J. Bailey, Mayor of Sun River Terrace

     Sun River Terrace's Mayor, Ralph J. Bailey was born in Chicago, Illinois.  He moved to Otto, Illinois when he was 12 and attended Chebanse Elementary School.  Bailey attended Central High School in Clifton, Illinois, where he was a noted athlete in football, track, baseball and basketball.  He was known throughout Iroquois and Kankakee Counties as "Beatle Bailey" Central's jumping jack. 
     After graduating from high school, he joined the US Army and spent three years in Germany.  Bailey's work experience was mostly spent in manufacturing at Martell's, General Foods and later Gould Battery. 
He moved up from laborer to supervisor and Operations Manager
     Bailey earned his Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts from Governors State
University, University Park, Illinois.  Mayor Bailey has lived in Sun River Terrace
37 years and served as a trustee for six years before being elected Mayor for three

terms.  He is married and has four children.
